Holocene Millennial-Scale Solar Variability and the Climatic Responses on Earth

چکیده
The solar impact on Earth’s climate is both a rich and open-ended topic with intense debates. In this study, we use the reconstructed data available to investigate periodicities of variability (i.e., variations sunspot numbers) temperature changes (10 sites spread all over Earth) as well statistical inter-relations between them millennial scale during past 8640 years (BC 6755–AD 1885) before modern industrial era. We find that temperatures show evidence for Eddy cycle component, i.e., 1000-year cyclicity, which was discovered in numbers believed be an intrinsic periodicity variability. Further wavelet time-frequency analysis demonstrates co-variation millennium components change held stable statistically strong five out these 10 our study interval. addition, climatic response forcing could different region-by-region, southern hemisphere seemed have opposite changing trend compared those northern scale. These findings reveal not only pronounced but also complex relationship Earth timescale. More are needed further verify preliminary results future.

Millennial- to century-scale variability in Gulf of Mexico Holocene climate records
[1] Proxy records from two piston cores in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) provide a detailed (50–100 year resolution) record of climate variability over the last 14,000 years. Long-term (millennial-scale) trends and changes are related to the transition from glacial to interglacial conditions and movement of the average position of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) related to orbital forcing....
متن کاملCentury-to-millennial scale climatic variability in Lake Malawi revealed by isotope records
Diatom-based oxygen isotope data (δOdiatom) from Lake Malawi show multi-centennial scale wet–dry intervals spaced approximately every 2.3 ka throughout a 25 ka sequence. The δOdiatom record is supported by a lower resolution deuterium (δDpa)isotope curve derived from palmitic acid. We interpret these isotope data in terms of major shifts in precipitation and evaporation moderated by seasonal co...
متن کاملCharacterization of Millennial-Scale Climate Variability
The oxygen isotope time series from ice cores in central Greenland [the Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 (GISP2) and the Greenland Ice Core Project (GRIP)] and West Antarctica (Byrd) provide a basis for evaluating the behavior of the climate system on millennial time scales. These time series have been invoked as evidence for mechanisms such as an interhemispheric climate seesaw or a stochastic re...

Introduction Paleoclimatics studies can respond the many uncertainties about past climate change; an issue that is being studied seriously in the world but less attention has been paid in Iran. The Late Quaternary can be considered as Holocene. Holocene, which spans over 11,000 years ago; In general, it is considered as a period with relatively warm and stable climatic conditions. However, rec...
متن کاملCentennial-to-Millennial Hydrologic Trends and Variability Along the North Atlantic Coast, USA, During the Holocene
Geophysical and sedimentary records from five lakes in Massachusetts reveal regionally coherent hydrologic variability during the Holocene. All of the lakes have risen since ~9.0 ka, but multicentury droughts after 5.6 ka repeatedly lowered their water levels. Quantified water level histories from the three best-studied lakes share >70% of their reconstructed variance. Four prominent low-water ...
